Kos Island

Kos belongs to the Dodecanese. The Dodecanese aren't twelve islands, as someone would believe from the name but 20 islands. Surface of Kos is 290 tr. Km and almost 24000 inhabitants. Kos is in third place after Rhodes and Karpatho. It is located south of kalimno and north of Nisiro. It's far from the east 4 miles and has length 45 km; width 2-11 km. Kos climate is sweet winter or summer. The morphology of the soil and the plentiful water are doing good for the production of agricultural products.

Presence of ruins and some exhibits revive memories from uninterrupted civilization of six thousand years. The island has combined the tradition’s elements with today and it has developed the characteristics of the modern cosmopolitan sea centers. We start the acquaintance from the city in the port, the museum, the purchase, the unique antiquities, the Hippocrate’s plane tree and the castle to pass through the Aesculapius antiquities and the rest island.

Kos: The today’s capital of Kos which has the same name is one of the most beautiful cities of Greece. The combination of the modern buildings and ruins of many centuries creates a charming atmosphere. Like the entire island and the capital city it has met important distortions from earthquakes in ancient years. The transportation to the villages of the island is being done by taxi or by bus. The often itinerary of ships and planes has made easier the development of the internal and national tourism.

The port: The life in the port never stops. Fishermen, tradesmen, caiques which commune are giving to the place of the port a different appearance around 4 or 5 in the morning. Ships commune people and merchandise.
